I don’t owe you pretty,
Just because I’m born a girl.
That’s not what I am about,
That’s not what I bring this world.
I don’t owe you decoration,
I don’t need to paint my face.
I don’t care to meet your image,
I don’t choose to walk with grace.
I can break your old glass ceilings,
I can rewrite what has gone.
I can give away my passion,
But my body is my own.
No I don’t owe you pretty,
Just because I’m born this way.
The only thing I owe you,
Is the right to live your way.
