There was a photo of a woman on the internet,
She was smiling as she splashed amidst the sea.
I read the comments underneath and this is what they said,
“Her body is just way too big for me”.
There was a photo of a woman on the internet,
She was laughing and dancing, life seemed good.
I read the comments underneath and this is what they said,
“That girl needs to eat some goddamn food.”
There was a photo of a woman on the internet,
She was telling everyone to buy some shakes.
I read the comments underneath and this is what they said,
“Yes please, help me lose this awful weight.”
There was a photo of a young girl on the internet,
A broken mother’s post, to say that she had passed.
I read the comments underneath and this is what they said,
‘Why did she suffer, why did she not ask?”
I see so many photos on the internet,
And everyone has something bad to say.
And I was thinking, maybe, it’s our words which need to change.
Maybe, we should find a kinder way.
