I wish you joy.
So much joy your heart feels full.
I wish you time.
Time to take everything in and catch the little moments that make life worth living.
I wish you courage.
To sit beside that empty place at the table and feel gratitude for the days you once spent together and the beautiful memories you made.
I wish you patience.
To see above the chaos and waste no time on trivialities, life is way too short for that.
I wish you enough.
But mostly I wish you enough compassion, so that you may open your arms, your heart, your home, your wallet…to anyone in need this season.
For there are many in need this season.
It may be a card and a chat for a lonely neighbour, or a pair of gloves to a man sleeping rough.
It may be a phone call.
It may be an offer of a grocery run for an elderly person living alone.
It may be simply a smile.
It may be forgiveness to a friend who did you wrong.
Whatever it is, I wish that you will give it.
I wish that we will all give it.
This is my wish, at Christmas.
