Did you know that incidents of reported domestic violence rise by 38% when England lose a World Cup game?
Isn’t that the most shocking thing you have heard today?
That a ‘game’, can hold the fate of girlfriends, wives and children in its hands.
Police are preparing themselves for the extra calls and all across the country and indeed the world, people are joining in the Red Card Against Abuse Campaign, to try and raise awareness and ultimately stop this upsetting behavioural pattern occurring.
Football and violence have long gone hand in hand and for each game played, the amount of money spent on police presence would make your eyes water.
Simply to deal with gangs of football fans looking to fight each other.
Then take it out on their loved ones.
Over a game.
When so many worthy causes go unsupported through lack of funds.
Time for all this to stop, right?
We are better than this, England.
We really are.
If you see anything or know anyone to behave like this following a game, please report it.
