I AM A MUM OF BOYS

I AM A MUM OF BOYS

They are loud, they are crazy, they are messy…they are rarely not covered in mud.

I go to rugby in the rain.

I know far too much about cars, football and Fortnite.

I play computer games and Lego.

I play war games and build forts.

If I want to feel close to them, I know I need to get on the floor and wrestle like a pro.

I repeat myself 500 times a day….

I AM A MUM OF BOYS

They are funny, they are determined, they are strong… they are rarely dull or sad.

I know a tonne of funny stories and jokes with poop in them – who knew there were so many?

I am the one they go to when their little hearts are hurting.

I am the one they need to make their world feel in order.

I am the one they know can heal them with a magic kiss, no matter how old they get.

I am the example they will base their future relationships on.

So I play and I fight and I roll on the ground.

I listen and I find and I repeat and repeat myself until I can’t repeat anymore. Then I do it all again.

And when no one else is watching, I am rewarded with the side of my boys that the rest of the world doesn’t see.

The sweet, cosy, affectionate side that right now, is just for me.

I am a mum of boys... being a mum to boys
