WANT TO STOP BULLYING? The Church Says A ‘Gender Free’ Childhood Is The Answer

According to The Church Of England, we should all be allowing our children to fully experiment with gender whilst they grow. The advice they are giving out to our nursery and primary schools is to allow all children to dress how they like, play with any toys they choose – without comment or expectation…

What does this mean?

It means that we should not assume they will like toys aimed at their gender – or make any comment when they do. The same goes for sports, hobbies and clothes.

If they wish to wear a tiara to a party – and they are male, no one should tell them that they shouldn’t. Or comment at all – except to say how lovely the tiara is…there should be no cajoling to choose a knight’s helmet instead.

According to them this will have a huge impact on bullying. By starting the children off early with no expectation of each sex’s behaviour, it will cut out a huge amount of stress, worry and teasing which can lead to extreme bullying and mental health issues in teenagers and adults. The statistics of teenage suicide are so very high and this will ultimately make a difference to that number.

Schools are also told they cannot use the Christian faith or Bible teachings to justify behaviour that is considered to amount to bullying – for example, identifying a transgender pupil by a sex other than the one they have chosen. The advice contains instructions on how to report bullying, including sample forms on which teachers are encouraged to name the alleged bully and their target, and use tick boxes to describe what happened.
Examples include name-calling, social media trolling, or insulting gestures.
The rules to ‘challenge homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying’ follow initial guidelines published by the Church three years ago which said being gay can be good and pupils should ‘revere and respect all members of the diverse community’.

I, for one, am very pleased too hear such progressive chat coming out of the cofE but I believe many people are shocked by this idea and worry it will create gender confusion when there was none before.

Child psychologists say otherwise; your gender will win out, regardless of what you play with or wear as a child, meaning that only those with true gender confusion will feel the need to change their sex, which would happen regardless but with much less stress and of course, bullying along the way.

Surely this can only be a good thing?

Let me hear your thoughts ladies!
