THE TRUTH ABOUT ANXIETY

THE TRUTH ABOUT ANXIETY

It is a secret stealer of joy, a spoiler of plans, a pusher-away of people…

It’s not just the panic, the worry and the fear…fear of being rejected, fear of being ridiculed, fear of not being good enough, fear of standing out, fear of letting people down, fear of losing control, fear of failing to bring the very basics of life.

It is the paranoia that everyone you love is leaving you. The all-consuming belief that one day, they will have had enough of you.

Why wouldn’t they? You are useless. Hopeless.

The pushing them away constantly, in a hapless bid to counteract the inevitability of them leaving.

Then there is the knowledge…

You are an intelligent person – you know, therefore, that your worries and fears are irrational.

You KNOW that.

And yet you cannot stop them.

This leads you to the horrifying belief that you are not in control of your own mind.

That is terrifying.

THAT, is fear.

If you are suffering from anxiety. The very first step to feeling better, really better, every day, is to talk about it.

You know why?

Paranoia, fear and worry, are a trio of nasties who, like vampires in sunlight, cannot withstand openness, honesty and communication.

It is their cryptonite.

It weakens them.

If you can bring yourself, perhaps on a good day, to ridicule them and laugh at how they taunt you, then you will soon see them begin to crumble and disperse.

They cannot live in the light.

Ladies, please pass this on, incase anyone you know is silently suffering from something that, together, us girls can fight.
