LADIES, STOP WITH THE JELLYFISH STINGS!
We women are truly awesome – hence why this page even exists. But – there are a few things we need to STOP DOING.
We need each other on this rollercoaster ride, we really do. Let’s put all our energy into building each other up and turn the bad habits around. Who is with me?
NO MORE JUDGEMENT
If she wants to put her career first, her family first, get married young, stay single, have children, have no children, wear hot pants, wear tracksuits, dye her hair blue, date men, date women, date both….then that is her path in this life and it is not for us to judge. If your input is required be positive and complimentary unless you feel there is danger ahead. Then and only then should be pointing out any ‘flaws’ you may see. We are all different and it would be RUBBISH if we were all the same. Allow people their journey in this life and be there to cheer them on.
NO MORE JELLYFISH STINGS.
What is a jellyfish sting I hear you ask? It is an insult hidden behind a smile, or worse, a concerned facial expression. It is a cheap shot and is just judgement in disguise. Stop it!
Example ; ‘I think it’s very sweet that you want to go out and work, I prefer to raise my kids but you know, I am old-fashioned that way, family first and all that.’
NO MORE SUPPRESSION
I am noticing a rising trend in women putting other women down for hustling. ‘Oh my goodness is she going on about her work again’ etc etc. This bothers me. Whether you like what they are doing or not doesn’t matter. They are trying to go out there in this life and achieve something. Be supportive in nay way you can. It seems to me that some women fear the success of other women in case it makes them feel inferior in their choices. This is just crazy. We are all fricking awesome and we are all winning at life just by getting up and getting on each day! Life is not easy and women have a lot on their shoulders.
By supporting others in their achievements you elevate yourself too. Trust me, that’s how it works. It’s infectious.
Let’s turn the tide around and stop seeing each other as competition and start seeing each other as compadres, companions, sisters…
When women support women, incredible things happen
