WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO HAVE IT ALL?
What if I am happy living small?
You see, I look around and I see a world that’s moving so very, very fast.
And it strikes me, that when when you are moving that fast, you miss a lot of the scenery along the way.
It occurs to me that you really cannot have it all, all of the time, and yet, we are all still trying to do exactly that.
Running fast on the treadmill of life, juggling balls and spinning plates like a circus performer on speed.
What if I have seen another way?
What if I chose to focus on just a handful of things in my world – and focus on them with all my might?
Like, actually focus on them.
What if I don’t need myriad accolades, achievements and material things to feel like I am living a full life?
What if I realised that with all those things comes quite a considerate amount of stress, like a buy one get one free offer you don’t want?
What if I am happy with peace in my heart and my head, and the simple checking off the important things on my list most days?
Maybe some days not much at all.
What if I decide that calm, gratitude, creativity, love and being present, really present, are more important than tearing through my life like an express train gone awry?
What if I really don’t want to have it all?
What if I would rather enjoy what I have?
Can you do both?
