There is a thief, that steals people’s lives
It takes people’s children and husbands and wives.
It hits without mercy, it strikes without care.
It wipes out your dignity, rips out your hair.
It starts who knows where and strikes who knows when.
It’s sometimes defeated and comes back again.
The tears that have fallen because of this curse.
Would fill several oceans, yet still it gets worse.
We fight and we rally in search of a cure,
Fearing each day it will come to our door.
And each day we hear of another soul struck.
Another earth angel who’s ran out of luck.
We all know a champion fighting this fight
Their loved ones in hell every day and each night
We’ve all held a hand, wiped a tear as they cried
And hoped cancer would, get cancer, and die…
