WOULD YOU SAY IT TO HER?

Would you say it to her?/ SELF-ESTEEM/ RAISING GIRLS

IF YOU COULD SEE HER

You wouldn’t say those things.

If you could see the little girl inside of you cowering in a corner because you told her she was stupid.
Because you told her she was useless
Because you told her she was worthless.

If you could see that little girl starving hungry and punishing her body.
Because you told her she was fat.
Because you told her she was greedy.

If you could see that little girl lying awake fearing the dawn.
Because you told her she can’t do it.
Because you told her she wasn’t enough.

If you could see that little girl hiding from her peers.
Because you told her she was unloveable
Because you told her no one could like her.

If you could see your inner child, the little girl you used to be. You wouldn’t say those things.

If she was your daughter, your niece, a beloved friend’s child.
You wouldn’t say those things.

You would tell her she was enough.
So enough you can’t even begin…
That she was strong and fearless and worthy of anything she dared to dream.

You would tell her to care for her amazing little body and to nurture and worship it – for it can do wonderful things.

You would show her how unique and wonderful she is in all her glory.

You would teach her to love herself enough so that it mattered not who else did.

You would show her how much you love her so she knew how to give in return.

So remember, before you say it to yourself.
Allow it to pass through this filter.
Before it leaves a mark on her delicate self-esteem.

Would you say it to her.
