10 THINGS EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW
1. We are all broken, that’s how the light gets in.
2. See that stunning woman over there? She has just as many body hang-up as you do.
3. Don’t look for a hero to save you, sometimes it’s the Princess who slays the dragon.
4. When someone tries to dim your light, show them just how fiercely you can shine.
5. If you feel like second best, walk on out with your head held high.
6. Don’t be fooled by the Facebook facade, everyone wakes up with morning breath.
7. Never compare, that’s for fools. Focus on what makes you, you – and be the freaking best at it.
8. Big up your fellow women, every day. There is room for every star to shimmer.
9. We all have rolls when we bend over and we all eat ice-cream straight from the carton.
10. Never be ashamed to cry or dribble when you laugh – the female body is 90% water – that’s got to come out somehow right?
Oh and one more…
Don’t waste any precious tears or time on someone who doesn’t see your worth. If they don’t now, they never will.
Their loss
I just love the positivity in this post! It’s really amazing and empowering. We have to value ourselves as women and remember what we’re worth.
I absolutely love this! It is a great reminder that we need to build ourselves up as much as we build others up.
Love it all but especially number 5 – no one should ever or be ever body shamed!!
Yes, yes, yes! It’s so empowering and liberating to reach the point where you realise what truly matters in life. We should empower each other and live live to the fullest.
I needed to hear these today – what a great list! 🙂
Dani x
Yes yes and yes again. Especially the body shaming one but yes to all
Yes yes yes! To all of this! It’s all about lifting each other up, not putting each other down!
All very great reminders that Can be easily
Forgotten! I love the one about not body shaming i agree it’s very low!
YAAAASSS! Girl, preach! Especially the body shaming on all accounts. Far too often I hear/see women making comments that can be deemed hurtful about other womens’ bodies. Let’s just NOT talk about each other bodies in general, amirite?
Oh these are great! and yes, life is short so i am starting to enjoy my life with my family.
I’ve been thinking a lot recently and very slowly starting to accept ME. I’m trying to convince myself I don’t need to loose a tonne of weight. Just a tiny bit to make me feel a little better about myself. I’m going to start exercising and carry on eating healthy. But I’m not going to tell myself I’m not allowed to have a treat. I’m so hard to start accepting myself as I never have. But your right. Life is too short!
Thanks for this! I loved #9. It IS SO TRUE!!
Good stuff! My favorite is: Nobody has it completely together, we are all just winging it. That really makes me feel better LOL
I love all of these, especially make your OWN fairytale. 🙂 Totally agree.
Great tips! We need to remember these every day!
Great post very inspiring love that line…If someone tells you you’re beautiful, that’s what they see, believe it – Totally agree 🙂 x
SO very very true. I think us women are naturally hard on ourselves and we needn’t be.
Agreed that nobody has it all together. Life is short – might as well made the best of it. Thanks for sharing!
I love this “Big Up Your Sisters Every Day.” Too many times, women make a habit of really tearing each other down. Thanks for encouraging people to treat each other better.
Yes! Love this post, I feel like this is the kind of thing that I should every morning to set me up for the day x
These are good things to remember, these. Thank you for the reminder 🙂
These are great things to know and they tickled me somewhat. Yes, life is definitely too short and beauty is with the beholder and lies within!
These are such important things to remember – especially making your own fairytale!
What a lovely post Donna, I really need to start learning to take compliments better, totally agree on Body Shaping that is so not cool x
I totally agree that no-one has it completely together. The grass always looks greener!
Lovely post. And sometimes us women should loose a bit, coz sometimes being uptight misses the fun in life.
Also that fairy tales do not need a prince or knight in shining armor. An awesome guy is nice but totally not necessary lol!
I agree with all of these. Number 3 Nobody has it completely together, we are all just winging it really speaks to me.
A great list and an awesome pick me up 🙂 Love it!
Thanks for all the encouragement! I agree, we need to be who we are to only ourselves. No one else has to matter unless we want them to matter.
i agree with all of these. i need to keep number 2 in mind a lot more
I love this list so much, especially the part about making your own fairytale. I very much believe that!
When people compliment me, I take it and accept it and appreciate it. I am not the type to ever question what they say! 😉 Too often people do that though and it’s sad!
Great points. Very true about not body shaming and always trying to be positive.
Also so important not to comment only on a women’s looks, especially when one leaves comments on blogs.
This is beautiful and powerful. It took me a LOOOONG time to learn to accept a compliment. Having low self esteem is difficult because you feel unworthy of compliments so when someone said something nice, I would fumble my words, be embarrassed and say something negative about myself trying not to draw attention to myself at the same time… yeah, it was ridiculous. “If someone tells you you’re beautiful, that’s what they see, believe it.” True. Just say thank you and deal with it 🙂 if you don’t believe it yet, you will one day!
I agree life is short so you need to have fun. Don’t worry about what other people think if you aren’t happy with the way you look change it but only if you do. Just be your own hero and help others as you go along the way.
