Being a new Mum can be isolating.
Just getting out the door can be a military expedition so nine times out of ten, new mums fall out of their old friendship patterns and spend a lot of time alone with the baby. As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, we have looked into all kinds of mental health danger zones of which having a baby is definitely one. Hormones are everywhere post childbirth and life is topsy turvy – meeting another Mum in the same situation as you for a coffee, moan and a laugh can be an absolute lifeline and this app helps you do just that….
Mush is a simple, free way to meet local mums with kids the same age. Download the app, pop in your criteria and off you go.
It’s also a great place to read interesting and relevant articles, join online chat groups, laugh over funny mum memes and so on….
MEET THE MUMS BEHIND MUSH
Sarah and Kate are the genius’s behind this simple yet super effective idea, this is how they tell their tale…
Sarah & Katie met on a cold and grey afternoon in a local playground. They both had a newborn strapped to their front whilst chasing around a toddler. They both hadn’t had an adult conversation all day.
Having kept each other sane through some lively (and dark!) times they thought it shouldn’t be hard and definitely shouldn’t be awkward to find local mum mates. And with that, mush was born.
Pretty sure many of us Mums will totally relate to that little paragraph above and so we want to give a massive virtual high-five to these ladies for bringing so much light and laughter into many Mum’s worlds.
