I don’t believe I am alone in feeling existential angst every Monday as my alarm goes off? Otherwise known as THE FEAR….?

AFFIRM

From the very second you open your eyes, silence the little voice of worry, fear, self-doubt and drown them out with some positive affirmations. Doesn’t matter if you believe the affirmation just repeat it over and over as you get on with your morning routine…Stick with present tense as projecting into the future does exactly that, puts it ahead of you instead of right now.

“I am ready and willing to receive the abundance of this day! All is well within my world.”

Choose your own message or google some examples. It really does work in reprogramming the negative commentary. I describe it like turning over the channel from a really negative programme to something light and inspiring! What would you prefer to listen to on your internal radio station?

BE KIND

To everyone and mostly to yourself. Whether you feel like being kind or not (I am going to assume most of us don’t) make a little game out of it. How many people can you make smile this morning. How nicey-nice could you be to yourself with your internal dialogue. Chances are you will make yourself laugh if you are doing it right… Imagine saying to yourself ‘Hey you look so fresh today, well done you on having such a fab weekend and eating and drinking like a champ!” Do it to everyone you meet along the way and watch the positivity spread. By lunchtime, chances are you will have bought into your own hype and will be feeling far better than you expected.

SPIN THE VIEW

Instead of feeling bad about goals you may have dropped over the weekend in terms of diet, exercise, work etc try to see it from a different angle. How amazing that you allowed yourself a couple of days off from schedule to chill and breathe and enjoy life with your friends/ family. Isn’t it fab that even someone as organised as you can take a day out to veg every now and again. How fantastic that even though you have mountains of work to get through you were cool enough to prioritise your friends/family/self. Well done! Perspective is everything!

START ANEW

Instead of feeling like it’s another slog of the same-old… see every new week as a fresh new diary page. A gorgeous blank sheet of your story to fill however you please. Exciting! Just because nothing has changed doesn’t mean nothing can be changed. You are in the driving seat. if you don’t like where you are – move – you are not a tree!
