The idea behind Ladies Pass It On was born in the summer of 2016 whilst an old friend of mine Irene Estry and I had one of our sparky and inspirational chats about life and how to really live it. Irene wrote a book a few years back detailing how to age with grace, dignity and most of all fun! The book is a real tonic, a tale of a life very well lived and we will definitely share some of her chapters on here. Amidst her many pages of fabulously informative fun, Irene quoted Oscar Wilde who famously said “The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on.” Oscar you are very right and thanks for the seed….
Showing the way as well as writing about it, Irene is a very well known and well loved fitness expert who is 75 years young and if ever there was a lady worth listening to on every subject, it is definitely her! Who wouldn’t take advice from someone farther up life’s ladder than yourself who has clearly lived a full life and is showing the way every day? It started me thinking about our mothers, aunts, grandmothers and all the woman we have taken advice from in the past – whether or not we listened at the time is one thing but retrospectively we know they were all right. Us ladies are definitely a different breed from our male companions and there’s no one better to listen to than each other.
I left the café that day thinking, yip, I know what I want to do now. I am going back to my writing roots but in a very different way. Let’s create a chilled out place where all women can come to be inspired, get involved, feel supported and learn what’s new. A few laughs along the way and bit of aspiration for good measure? Why not!
Social media has levelled the publishing playing field and given us all the power of broadcast! This power can be used in any way we choose and I for one would love to make role models of us women whether we are staying at home with the kids for a few years, working every hour of the day or managing a successful career. Regardless of our status or position we all have tales to share, opinions to air and wisdom to pass on so let’s get it all out there girls!!!
If you have something to say on any subject and would like to be featured on Ladies Pass It On, write to me [email protected] and I will share you with the world!
